Expertise-Specific Guidance and Consultation
We provide expertise-specific guidance and consultation related to social and emotional learning, youth mental health and wellness, and child psychology and development. This may include consultation on children’s media content and the development of companion resources for youth, caregivers, educators, and child-serving professionals to support connection, learning, and children’s social-emotional development.

Review and Recommendations
We are able to review and provide recommendations regarding the materials you currently have (e.g., concept, format, characters, visuals, storylines, game ideas, etc.). Feedback may address areas such as developmental appropriateness and alignment, learning and engagement potential, clarity and comprehensibility for the intended age group, accessibility and usability considerations, relevance to children’s lived experiences, representation, and potential educational or social-emotional benefit/application. If, during the review process, it appears that culturally specific expertise or additional specialized consultation would strengthen the work, we will recommend bringing in one or more additional consultants. Beyond the initial review, we are happy to provide follow-up feedback on revised versions and review the final draft or product as needed.

Formative Research and Recommendations
In addition to reviewing materials and providing insights and ideas, it is also valuable to hear directly from children themselves. We can assist with conducting formative feedback and research with youth, as well as relevant adults as needed (e.g., parents/caregivers, educators, and child-serving providers). Information gathered may include observations of engagement with the product, reported experiences, and feedback or suggestions. Findings are then analyzed, summarized, and presented in both presentation and written report formats, along with actionable recommendations to support development, refinement, and impact.

Curriculum and Content Development
In addition to reviewing materials and conducting formative research, we also provide consultation in curriculum and content development focused on supporting children’s social-emotional development and well-being. By identifying the primary learning goals you would like to achieve, the skills or concepts you would like children to be introduced to, practice, or reinforce, and the key messages or connections you would like to highlight through the story, characters, or overall experience, we can work together to ensure these elements are thoughtfully and naturally integrated into your product in an engaging, relatable, and developmentally appropriate way. We can also provide guidance on the development of companion materials or resources for youth, caregivers, educators, and child-serving professionals that extend learning and support meaningful conversations and connections beyond the primary product.

Development of Companion Materials/Resources
In addition to consulting on specific content or products, we also provide guidance on ways to expand engagement with media through the development of companion materials and resources for youth, caregivers, educators, and child-serving professionals. These materials are designed to deepen connections with the story, characters, and themes while supporting children’s social-emotional well-being and development. Examples of companion materials and resources may include viewing or discussion guides, lesson materials for educators, follow-up activities (e.g., instructions, printables, or interactive digital activities), digital or physical interactive games, and prompts for reflection or creative expression (e.g., journaling, art-making, etc.).

Impact Research and Recommendations
To better understand how your media product is resonating with children and the adults in their lives, we offer support in conducting impact-focused research and evaluation. This may include examining how children engage with and understand the content, as well as the ways in which it may support social-emotional learning, reflection, and connection. Using a combination of qualitative and quantitative approaches—such as surveys, interviews, focus groups, and observational feedback—we gather insights from youth, caregivers, educators, and child-serving professionals. Findings are analyzed and synthesized into key insights and shared through both visual presentations and written reports, along with actionable recommendations to inform refinement, future development, and broader impact. Our goal is to help ensure your media is not only engaging, but also thoughtfully designed to support children’s learning, well-being, and development.
